A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick 7.0.x (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as problematic. Double free vulnerability in coders/tga.c in ImageMagick 7.0.0 and later allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted tga file.
The bug was discovered 06/02/2016. The weakness was disclosed 03/15/2017 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-8894 since 06/02/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
