A vulnerability has been found in MediaWiki up to 1.23.11/1.24.4/1.25.3/1.26.0 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function hash_compare of the component Blacklist. The manipulation of the argument wgArticlePath with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. MediaWiki before 1.23.12, 1.24.x before 1.24.5, 1.25.x before 1.25.4, and 1.26.x before 1.26.1 do not properly normalize IP addresses containing zero-padded octets, which might allow remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions by using an IP address that was not supposed to have been allowed.
