A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick up to 6.9.4-6 (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects the function NewXMLTree of the file magick/xml-tree.c. Memory leak in the NewXMLTree function in magick/xml-tree.c in ImageMagick before 6.9.4-7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a crafted XML file.
The bug was discovered 12/26/2016. The weakness was presented 03/23/2017 by Masaaki Chida (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-10047 since 12/26/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
