Unquoted Windows search path vulnerability in RDDService in Symantec PGP Desktop 10.0.x through 10.2.x and Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.0 before MP3 allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse application in the %SYSTEMDRIVE% top-level directory.

Symantec is not aware of exploitation of or adverse customer impact from this issue.This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-1610 since 02/04/2013. Local access is required to approach this attack. A authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1574 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 69307 (Symantec Encryption Desktop Unquoted Search Path), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
