In LibTIFF 4.0.7, a memory leak vulnerability was found in the function OJPEGReadHeaderInfoSecTablesQTable in tif_ojpeg.c, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 04/20/2017. The weakness was published 06/02/2017 as Bug 2688 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.maptools.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-9404. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
