A vulnerability has been found in LibTIFF 4.0.7 (Image Processing Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function TIFFVGetField

Stack-based buffer overflow in the _TIFFVGetField function in tif_dir.c in LibTIFF 4.0.7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted TIFF file.
The bug was discovered 03/01/2017. The weakness was presented 03/01/2017 by Agostino Sarubbo with Gentoo (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-10095 since 01/01/2017. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
