CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Tor up to 0.3.0.7 (Network Encryption Software). Affected is the function connection_edge_process_relay_cell of the component Hidden-Service. The manipulation as part of a BEGIN_DIR Cell leads to a input validation vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the properties that are required to process the data safely and correctly. This is going to have an impact on availability. CVE summarizes:

The hidden-service feature in Tor before 0.3.0.8 allows a denial of service (assertion failure and daemon exit) in the connection_edge_process_relay_cell function via a BEGIN_DIR cell on a rendezvous circuit.

The bug was discovered 06/05/2017. The weakness was presented 06/09/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-0376 since 11/29/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 4 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 100724 (Debian DLA-982-1 : tor security update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
