The hidden-service feature in Tor before 0.3.0.8 allows a denial of service (assertion failure and daemon exit) in the connection_edge_process_relay_cell function via a BEGIN_DIR cell on a rendezvous circuit.
The bug was discovered 06/05/2017. The weakness was presented 06/09/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-0376 since 11/29/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
