as part of a Parameter leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. Server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in file_upload.php in Synology Photo Station before 6.7.4-3433 and 6.3-2968 allows remote authenticated users to download arbitrary local files via the url parameter.
The bug was discovered 08/03/2017. The weakness was published 09/08/2017 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at synology.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-12071 since 07/31/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. The successful exploitation requires a simple authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
