Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 allows an elevation of privilege vulnerability when Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access (OWA) fails to properly handle web requests, aka "Microsoft Exchange Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability."
The weakness was shared 09/12/2017 as KB4036108 as confirmed security update guide (Website). The advisory is shared for download at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-8758 since 05/03/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access (OWA) fails to properly handle web requests. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could perform script/content injection attacks and attempt to trick the user into disclosing sensitive information.
