The bug was discovered 07/25/2017. The weakness was shared 10/27/2017 by Takeshi Terada with Ant-financial Light-Year Security Lab (Website). The advisory is available at security.gentoo.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5100 since 01/02/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
