The DehoistArrayIndex function in hydrogen-dehoist.cc (aka hydrogen.cc) in Google V8 before 3.22.24.7, as used in Google Chrome before 31.0.1650.63, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write) or possibly have unspecified other impact via JavaScript code that sets the value of an array element with a crafted index.
The weakness was released 11/15/2013 by Jakob Kummerow (Cloudfuzzer) with Chromium Development Community as 319835 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at googlechromereleases.blogspot.com. The public release was coordinated with Google. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-6639 since 11/05/2013. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/02/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
