Directory traversal vulnerability in ZZIPlib 0.13.69 allows attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in a zip file, because of the function unzzip_cat in the bins/unzzipcat-mem.c file.
The bug was discovered 09/25/2018. The weakness was shared 10/01/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-17828 since 09/30/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
