A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in OpenBB 1.0.0 Beta1 up to 1.0.6. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file board.php of the component Search. The manipulation of the argument forums
with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in Open Bulletin Board (OpenBB) 1.0.6 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) FID parameter in board.php, (2) sortorder, perpage, or id parameters in member.php, (3) forums parameter in search.php, or (4) PID or FID parameters in post.php.
The weakness was shared 12/31/2004 with Gulftech (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at marc.theaimsgroup.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-1966 since 05/04/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
