Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 SP1 through SP3, when running Outlook Web Access (OWA), allows user-assisted remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or web script via unknown vectors related to "HTML parsing."
The weakness was disclosed 06/13/2006 by Daniel Fabian with SEC Consult as MS06-029 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-1193 since 03/13/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
