NextCloud Server and NextCloud Enterprise Server provide file storage for Nextcloud, a self-hosted productivity platform. Starting in version 26.0.0 and prior to version 26.0.2, an attacker could supply a URL that redirects an unsuspecting victim from a legitimate domain to an attacker's site. Nextcloud Server and Nextcloud Enterprise Server 26.0.2 contain a patch for this issue. No known workarounds are available.

The weakness was released 06/24/2023 as GHSA-h353-vvwv-j2r4. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2023-35171 since 06/14/2023. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1204.001 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 26.0.2 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
