A vulnerability has been found in e107 CMS 0.7 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file signup.php. Multiple "potential" SQL injection vulnerabilities in e107 0.7 might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via (1) the email, hideemail, image, realname, signature, timezone, and xupexist parameters in signup.php, (2) the content_comment, content_rating, and content_summary parameters in subcontent.php, (3) the download_category and file_demo in upload.php, and (4) the email, hideemail, user_timezone, and user_xup parameters in usersettings.php.
The weakness was disclosed 12/11/2005 by Yichen Xie (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-4224 since 12/14/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:signup.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
