An "integer arithmetic" error in Apple QuickTime 7.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted movie file containing a movie atom with a large size value, which triggers a stack-based buffer overflow.

The bug was discovered 11/12/2007. The weakness was published 11/06/2007 by Ruben Santamarta (TippingPoint) with ZDI (Website). The advisory is shared for download at docs.info.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-4674 since 09/05/2007. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
