The skfp_ioctl function in drivers/net/skfp/skfddi.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.28.6 permits SKFP_CLR_STATS requests only when the CAP_NET_ADMIN capability is absent, instead of when this capability is present, which allows local users to reset the driver statistics, related to an "inverted logic" issue.

The bug was discovered 02/17/2009. The weakness was released 02/22/2009 as Bug 486534 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-0675 since 02/22/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
