The browser engine in Mozilla Firefox before 3.0.9, Thunderbird before 2.0.0.22, and SeaMonkey before 1.1.16 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) and possibly trigger memory corruption via vectors related to nsSVGElement::BindToTree.

The bug was discovered 04/21/2009. The weakness was presented 04/22/2009 by Gregory Fleischer (moz_bug_r_a4) with Martijn Wargers (Website). The advisory is shared at redhat.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2009-1303 since 04/16/2009. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details and a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592.004 for this issue.
