The nsDocShell::OnRedirectStateChange function in docshell/base/nsDocShell.cpp in Mozilla Firefox 3.5.x before 3.5.11 and 3.6.x before 3.6.7, and SeaMonkey before 2.0.6, allows remote attackers to spoof the SSL security status of a document via vectors involving multiple requests, a redirect, and the history.back and history.forward JavaScript functions.

The weakness was published 07/30/2010 by Vladimir Vukicevic (moz_bug_r_a4) as Bug 536466 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-2751. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 48342 (CentOS 3 : seamonkey (CESA-2010:0546)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CentOS Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 118862 (Red Hat Update for Xulrunner Firefox (RHSA-2010:0547)).

Upgrading to version 1.0.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
