The form-autocompletion functionality in Moodle 2.0.x before 2.0.7, 2.1.x before 2.1.4, and 2.2.x before 2.2.1 makes it easier for physically proximate attackers to discover passwords by reading the contents of a non-password field, as demonstrated by accessing a create-groups page with Safari on an iPad device.

The weakness was released 07/17/2012 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at git.moodle.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-0800 since 01/19/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 2.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.moodle.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be patching the affected component.
