A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Adobe Flash Player up to 11.4.402.278 (Multimedia Player Software). Affected is an unknown code block of the component Input Sanitizer. Buffer overflow in Adobe Flash Player before 10.3.183.29 and 11.x before 11.4.402.287 on Windows and Mac OS X, before 10.3.183.29 and 11.x before 11.2.202.243 on Linux, before 11.1.111.19 on Android 2.x and 3.x, and before 11.1.115.20 on Android 4.x; Adobe AIR before 3.4.0.2710; and Adobe AIR SDK before 3.4.0.2710 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors, a different vulnerability than other Flash Player buffer overflow CVEs listed in APSB12-22.
The weakness was presented 11/02/2012 by Mateusz Jurczyk, Gynvael Coldwind and Fermin Serna with Google Security Team as APSB12-22 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is available at adobe.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-5285 since 10/04/2012. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 04/18/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product decreasing in the near future.
