Directory traversal vulnerability in Core FTP Server 1.2 before build 515 allows remote authenticated users to determine the existence of arbitrary files via a /../ sequence in an XCRC command.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 122061 (Core FTP Server / SFTP Server Information Disclosure and Denial of Service Vulnerabilities).
Upgrading to version 1.2 eliminates this vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 21745.
