Session fixation vulnerability in the CentralAuth extension for MediaWiki before 1.18.6, 1.19.x before 1.19.3, and 1.20.x before 1.20.1 allows remote attackers to hijack web sessions via the centralauth_Session cookie.

The weakness was released 06/02/2014 as Bug 40962 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.wikimedia.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-5395 since 10/17/2012. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
