BEA WebLogic Server and WebLogic Express 6.1, 7.0, and 8.1, when using Remote Method Invocation (RMI) over Internet Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP), does not properly handle when multiple logins for different users coming from the same client, which could cause an "unexpected user identity" to be used in an RMI call.
The weakness was published 06/16/2004 with BEA Systems, Inc. (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at dev2dev.bea.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-2696 since 10/06/2007. The attack can be launched remotely. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
