This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-4692 since 06/19/2015. The attack needs to be approached locally. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 58628 (Fedora 16 : openstack-keystone-2011.3.1-3.fc16 (2012-4960)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 175492 (Debian Security Update for linux (DSA 3329-1)).
Upgrading to version 4.0.6-300.fc22 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at kernel.org. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 19305.
