The SNMP module in Cisco IOS XR allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (process restart) via crafted SNMP packets, aka Bug ID CSCue69472.

The weakness was presented 04/30/2013 with Cisco as CVE-2013-1234 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at tools.cisco.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-1234 since 01/11/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. A authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

Upgrading to version 4.3(2.14)I or 4.3(1.30)I eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
