A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange up to 6.5.8/7.0.4/7.5.4 (Groupware Software). This issue affects an unknown part of the component RAR Decompression. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Applying the patch SMSMSE_6.5.8_3968140_HF2.3/SMSMSE_7.0_3966002_HF2.1/SMSMSE_7.5_3966008_VHF2.2 is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
