A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in ImageMagick (Image Processing Software) (version unknown). Affected is the function ReadWPGImage of the file coders/wpg.c of the component wpg File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds vulnerability. The ReadWPGImage function in coders/wpg.c in ImageMagick allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via a crafted WPG file.
The bug was discovered 09/29/2016. The weakness was shared 04/19/2017 by Moshe Kaplan (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-7533 since 09/09/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
