A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in ImageMagick (Image Processing Software) (version now known). This issue affects some unknown processing of the file MagickCore/memory.c of the component pdb File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds write vulnerability. The bug was discovered 09/29/2016. The weakness was presented 04/19/2017 by Moshe Kaplan (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-7531 since 09/09/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
