The bug was discovered 09/29/2016. The weakness was released 04/20/2017 by Moshe Kaplan (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-7534 since 09/09/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
