The bug was discovered 09/29/2016. The weakness was presented 04/20/2017 by Moshe Kaplan (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-7536 since 09/09/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
