Multiple memory corruption issues existed in libxml. These issues were addressed by updating libxml to version 2.9.0.
This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2012-2807 since 05/19/2012. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 05/25/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
