The ReadVIFFImage function in coders/viff.c in ImageMagick 7.0.6-6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a crafted VIFF file.
The bug was discovered 08/08/2017. The weakness was presented 09/01/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-12692 since 08/08/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
