A vulnerability was found in Oracle M3000, M4000, M5000, M8000 and M9000 and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code block of the component XCP Firmware. NTP before 4.2.8p9 allows remote attackers to bypass the origin timestamp protection mechanism via an origin timestamp of zero. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of a CVE-2015-8138 regression.
The bug was discovered 11/21/2016. The weakness was shared 10/19/2017 with Boston University as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - October 2017 as confirmed advisory (Website).
