An issue was discovered in com_fields in Joomla! Core before 3.8.8. Inadequate filtering allows users authorised to create custom fields to manipulate the filtering options and inject an unvalidated option.
The bug was discovered 05/02/2018. The weakness was disclosed 05/22/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-11321 since 05/21/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is necessary for exploitation.
