The vulnerability exists within processing of sendmail.php in Schneider Electric U.motion Builder software versions prior to v1.3.4. The applet allows callers to select arbitrary files to send to an arbitrary email address.
The bug was discovered 04/19/2018. The weakness was disclosed 07/03/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at schneider-electric.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-7770 since 03/08/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
