A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome up to 33.0.1750.149 on Windows (Web Browser). It has been declared as problematic. The ScopedClipboardWriter::WritePickledData function in ui/base/clipboard/scoped_clipboard_writer.cc in Google Chrome before 33.0.1750.152 on OS X and Linux and before 33.0.1750.154 on Windows does not verify a certain format value, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via vectors related to the clipboard.
The weakness was shared 03/14/2014 with VUPEN as Stable Channel Update, March 2014 as confirmed changelog entry (Blog). The advisory is available at googlechromereleases.blogspot.ch. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-1714 since 01/29/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
