A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome up to 33.0.1750.117 (Web Browser). It has been classified as critical. This affects the function pepperflashrendererhost::onnavigate of the file renderer/pepper/pepper_flash_renderer_host.cc of the component Flash Header Handler. The PepperFlashRendererHost::OnNavigate function in renderer/pepper/pepper_flash_renderer_host.cc in Google Chrome before 33.0.1750.146 does not verify that all headers are Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) simple headers before proceeding with a PPB_Flash.Navigate operation, which might allow remote attackers to bypass intended CORS restrictions via an inappropriate header.
The weakness was released 03/03/2014 by Khalil Zhani (Cloudfuzzer) with Google as Stable Channel Update, March 2014 as confirmed release notes (Blog). It is possible to read the advisory at googlechromereleases.blogspot.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-6666 since 11/05/2013. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/15/2021).
