Details
A vulnerability was found in LibRaw up to 0.18.11 (Image Processing Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function parse_qt of the file internal/dcraw_common.cpp. The manipulation as part of a QuickTime File leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-190. The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound, when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This can introduce other weaknesses when the calculation is used for resource management or execution control. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
An integer overflow error within the "parse_qt()" function (internal/dcraw_common.cpp) in LibRaw versions prior to 0.18.12 can be exploited to trigger an infinite loop via a specially crafted Apple QuickTime file.
