A vulnerability was found in FasterXML jackson-databind up to 2.9.6 (Programming Language Software). It has been declared as critical. FasterXML jackson-databind 2.x before 2.9.7 might allow remote attackers to conduct server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks by leveraging failure to block the axis2-jaxws class from polymorphic deserialization.

The bug was discovered 07/27/2018. The weakness was disclosed 01/02/2019 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2018-14721 since 07/28/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
