In macOS High Sierra before 10.13.5, an issue existed in CUPS. This issue was addressed with improved access restrictions.
The bug was discovered 05/09/2018. The weakness was disclosed 07/11/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-4181 since 01/02/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1548.002.
