The summary by CVE is:
Power Management in Apple OS X 10.9.x through 10.9.2 allows physically proximate attackers to bypass an intended transition into the locked-screen state by touching (1) a key or (2) the trackpad during a lid-close action.
The weakness was disclosed 04/22/2014 by Paul Kleeberg, Julian Sincu, Gerben Wierda and Daniel Luz with Opera as HT6207 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Apple. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-1321 since 01/08/2014. The exploitation is known to be difficult. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue. The advisory points out:
If a key was pressed or the trackpad touched just after the lid was closed, the system might have tried to wake up while going to sleep, which would have caused the screen to be unlocked.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 73648 (Mac OS X Multiple Vulnerabilities (Security Update 2014-002)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks.
