The XrayWrapper implementation in Mozilla Firefox before 29.0 and SeaMonkey before 2.26 allows user-assisted remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via a crafted web site that is visited in the debugger, leading to unwrapping operations and calls to DOM methods on the unwrapped objects.
The weakness was released 04/29/2014 by Boris Zbarsky as MFSA2014-47 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-1526 since 01/16/2014. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
