The bug was discovered 04/09/2019. The weakness was presented 04/09/2019 by Mikhail as confirmed security update guide (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with Microsoft. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-0857 since 11/26/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. A spoofing vulnerability that could allow a security feature bypass exists in when Azure DevOps Server does not properly sanitize user provided input. An attacker who exploited the vulnerability could trick a user into loading a page containing malicious content.
The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91520 (Microsoft Team Foundation Server Update for April 2019).
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
