A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01/5.5/6.0 (Web Browser). It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function showhelp of the component Help Function. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The showHelp() function in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01, 5.5, and 6.0 supports certain types of pluggable protocols that allow remote attackers to bypass the cross-domain security model and execute arbitrary code, aka "Improper Cross Domain Security Validation with ShowHelp functionality."
