The Javascript interpreter (jsinterp.c) in Mozilla and Firefox before 1.5.1 does not properly dereference objects, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via unknown attack vectors related to garbage collection.

The weakness was published 02/02/2006 by Martijn Wargers (moz_bug_r_a4) with Martijn Wargers as MFSA2006-05 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2006-0292 since 01/18/2006. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
