Untrusted search path vulnerability in Winlogon in Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, when SafeDllSearchMode is disabled, allows local users to gain privileges via a malicious DLL in the UserProfile directory, aka "User Profile Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability."

The bug was discovered 08/08/2006. The weakness was shared 08/08/2006 by Reed Arvin with Canaudit Inc. as MS06-051 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-3443 since 07/07/2006. Access to the local network is required for this attack. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
