Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002, and 2003 allows user-assisted remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory exhaustion and interrupted mail recovery) via malformed e-mail header information, possibly related to (1) long subject lines or (2) large numbers of recipients in To or CC headers.
The bug was discovered 01/09/2007. The weakness was shared 01/09/2007 by Stuart Pearson with Microsoft as MS07-003 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-1305 since 03/20/2006. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
