Unspecified vulnerability in the authentication feature for DirectoryService (DS Plug-Ins) for Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4 through 10.4.8 allows remote authenticated LDAP users to modify the root password and gain privileges via unknown vectors.
The bug was discovered 03/13/2007. The weakness was disclosed 03/14/2007 by Alex with Security-Protocols (Website). The advisory is shared at us-cert.gov. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-0723 since 02/05/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
